Town Hall meetings scheduled for August 12 & 13, aimed at gathering public input regarding the development of a Watershed Protection Plan for the Elk River Chain of Lakes.

Once a final version of this Watershed Protection Plan has been reviewed and approved by DEQ & EPA, citing the specific TASKS in this Plan will become important/desirable prerequisite for obtaining grant funds and permits in the future.  Therefore it is important that we make efforts to incorporate key threats to the watershed in this draft Plan…as we currently understand the threats.

The meeting of the 12th will be held at the Elk Rapids Old Village Hall Meeting Room at: 321 Bridge Street Elk Rapids, MI.

The meeting of the 13th will be held at the Torch Lake Township Hall at: 2355 North US-­‐31 Kewadin, MI.
